Research Development
The Research Development team at Technology & Research Services (TRS) offer support functions for all forms of research activity - funding, contracts etc - as well as supporting the Deputy Principal (Research) and the work of the Research Co-ordination Board (of which the Director of TRS is a member).
To ensure that the interests of the University and its staff are protected Technology & Research Services (TRS) gives advice on legal matters. This includes ensuring compliance with University policies and legal/financial regulations, as well as preparation and negotiation of contracts and agreements.
Technology & Research Services (TRS) can assist in the identification and matching of funding opportunities from a variety of sources. A number of briefing and information sessions are offered throughout the year e.g. Funding Council Presentations & Grant Application Seminars. Requests for one-on-one sessions to develop funding applications are welcome.
Assistance is available with regard to EU funding opportunities, particularly the Framework Programmes. We can help with the development of Framework Programme proposals, contractual preparation, and the management of EU research proposals.
Technology & Research Services provide continuous support to Schools developing and completing research proposals. This can include the verification of eligible costs and the recovery of overheads.
