The Edinburgh Conference Centre provides 165 ensuite rooms during term time for visitor accommodation which have a VisitScotland rating of 2 star. During the vacation periods the choice of accommodation on campus extends to over 900 ensuite rooms. The Careers Advisory Service provides impartial and confidential careers advice and guidance to students and graduates. Our role is to help you to identify career goals and to develop the skills required to find employment. We provide a comprehensive information and vacancy service to assist you with your career planning.

Catering and Residences is responsible for both student and academic services (such as accommodation and residential services and food/beverage services), and commercial services (academic meeting space, event management, and residential meeting space).

Heriot-Watt's Sports Academy and the Centre for Sport and Exercise provide a supportive environment to help develop individuals at all levels from recreational physical activity through to elite sports performance. The Sports Academy includes an indoor Astrodome, physiotherapy and rehabilitation suite, six full-sized UEFA football pitches and a Sports Science and Sports Medicine Centre. The Centre for Sport and Exercise includes three multi-purpose sports halls, three floodlit tennis courts, climbing wall, squash courts, Nautilus suite, and Cardiovascular suite. Our sportsmen and women represent their country internationally in many sports including athletics, karate, sailing, squash and swimming.

Core personal possessions insurance cover for students staying in Halls is arranged by the University with Endsleigh Insurance. Students may need extended cover for some items, however. Contents insurance policies from Endsleigh are specifically designed to cover students personal possessions whether they are living in halls of residences, shared houses or student flats.

A high quality collection of Heriot-Watt jewellery is available for you to order online from our supplier: Commemorative Jewellery. This very attractive range includes seal rings, cufflinks, charm bracelet, stick pin and keyring. The jewellery is designed to be worn by Heriot-Watt alumni, students, graduands, members of staff, and friends of the University. Every item purchased contributes to essential University fundraising.

The Heriot-Watt gift collection for alumni, friends and staff of Heriot-Watt is available online or by mail order from our leisurewear supplier: Image Scotland, based in Musselburgh. Our branded clothing range includes sports and leisurewear and Watt Club ties, including tartan. There are also a number of attractive gift items.

Heriot-Watt Research Park was created by the University to enable companies to establish their own research and development groups within the Edinburgh Campus. The objective is to provide the best possible location for established and new companies to undertake the development of new products, processes and services, through immediate access to all of the University's staff and facilities. The emphasis at the Park is on research, development, design, engineering, training, and prototyping activities leading to manufacture.

Heriot-Watt Trading Limited is a private limited company which is wholly owned by Heriot-Watt University. The principal activities of the company are the provision of consultancy services, surface analysis, language translation and interpretation services, management and business training and the manufacture of finished goods.

The University Health Service provides a full and increasing range of general medical and dental facilities under the UK National Health Service. A team of community specialists provide services on a sessional basis such as psychiatric nursing, midwifery, dietetics and health visiting. Private health services including physiotherapy and optometry are also offered on a sessional basis.

Integrated Language Services provides a comprehensive and professional language service to commerce and industry involving translation and interpreting. A multi-language conference requires specialist equipment to ensure that delegates can follow the proceedings in their chosen language and we can supply a number of services to help you, one of which is a full ILS interpreting service is available which can be viewed here.

In the five years since the Network of Excellence in Training (NExT) program began, this industry and academic partnership has delivered competence-based training for more than 250 companies and over 10,000 people in 42 countries. Our tailored approach to customer requirements means that we have delivered almost 250 fully customized courses alongside our regular training modules.

Pinocchio's Nursery is a privately owned childcare service housed in a bright and airy purpose-built nursery on the Edinburgh Campus. It provides childcare services to University employees, students and the general public. Pinocchio's provides a positive welcoming environment where children feel free to be themselves in a safe and secure setting. The Nursery provides a broad and balanced curriculum and encourages children's individual development and progress.

SMI - the centre for excellence for advanced manufacturing solutions at Heriot-Watt University - is one of 16 IMRCs (Innovative Manufacturing Research Centres) established by EPSRC with additional financial support from Industry. Our mission is to support manufacturing innovation through research in technologies that underpin sustainable growth of high value-added manufacturing industries in Scotland and the rest of the UK, by exploiting a constructive engagement between academic researchers and industrial stakeholders. The SMI is based on three research themes: Digital Tools, Microsystems and Photonics.

The Sport and Exercise, Science and Medicine Centre (SESMC) offers a fully integrated approach to the treatment of injuries, rehabilitation, physiological assessment and the prescription of training programmes. Based in the Centre for Sport & Exercise, the Centre has a number of very well qualified, highly experienced staff. The Centre offers and impressive range of sport science and medicine services including strength and conditioning, physiological assessment, sports and exercise psychology, nutrition analysis and advice, advanced hypnotherapy, injury diagnosis, assessment and treatment, podiatry, massage therapy and optometry.
