The Court is the body which bears the responsibility to regulate the affairs of the University, both financial and, by review of the actions and decisions of the Senate, academic. It approves the Strategic Plan, budgets and accounts, and ensures the setting of clear objectives for management.
The Court Emergency Committee has full delegated power to act on behalf of the Court during vacations or, when necessary by reason of urgency, between meetings of the Court.
Profiles of current Court members are listed indicating their qualifications and professional affiliations. Heriot-Watt University is governed by The Court which has the ultimate authority and obligation in relation to financial and contractual issues and, by review of the actions and decisions of the Senate, also in relation to academic undertakings.
The Committee reviews the membership of the Court and its committees from time to time, and submits nominations to the Court for additions and changes to membership.
