The accountancy group is engaged in research both at the accounting and management interface and, within mainstream accounting, on corporate reporting and disclosure - including the study of intangibles. On the finance side, it contributes to the work of CERT with research in both market behaviour and corporate finance.
These forms must be used for claiming reimbursment of expenses incurred by non staff members. Completed and authorised forms should be forwarded to the Accounts Payable team in Lord Balerno Building for processing and payment. Expenses will be paid in accordance with the guidelines laid down in Appenix I of the University Financial Regulations & Procedures.

Scholarships are available in a number of cases subject to conditions and your individual circumstances. Alternatively, support for living expenses may be available depending on your circumstances or perhaps a part-time job is a requirement?
The Finance Committee reviews the financial implications of the Strategic Plan, and the resulting annual budgets, which it presents to the Court. The Committee monitors financial outturn against budgets during the course of the year, and oversees management action to ensure they are met. In addition to ensuring that the University applies best practice to the finance function, and complies with the stipulations of the Funding Council, the Committee advises on appropriate performance measures and benchmarking comparators. The Committee presents the University's Annual Financial Report to the Court for approval prior to publication.
These regulations and procedures, which have been approved by the University Court set out the responsibilities for financial management within the University and are to be followed by all members of Court and University staff involved with the finances of the University and its subsidiaries. The regulations and procedures apply to all income and expenditure administered by the University and its subsidiaries from all sources, and are not limited to funds from Government agencies such as Scottish Higher Education Funding Council.

Pension+Plus is a new way to contribute to the USS which reduces the amount both you and the University pay in National Insurance (NI). Your take home pay increases because you pay less NI. The University also pays less NI and will be able to reinvest the savings it makes into new initiatives.
We offer taught postgraduate programmes in Accounting, Banking, Finance, Business Management, European Studies, Translating and Interpreting (European languages, Arabic and Chinese), Strategic Project Planning and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Graduate education is regarded as an essential component of a research culture and at the more advanced levels, results and findings from research being undertaken in our specialist research centres feed through into our MSc teaching, providing an invaluable synergy. The School's new Management and European Studies Research Unit, which houses a dedicated MSc computing lab, will allow further development of links between research and postgraduate teaching within the School.
