handbook
At the beginning of each year, all on-campus students are required to enrol (i.e. register) with the University at the time and location specified for their course. The Information Packs sent to new and continuing students include details or our enrolment process. Enrolment is a three stage process covering a pre-enrolment meeting, online enrolment and participation in an enrolment event. Students who register late without a valid reason will be charged a fee.
The Learning and Teaching Board has institutional responsibility for the setting and implementation of all strategic issues related to learning and teaching. This Handbook aims to provide a comprehensive overview of all aspects of the Learning and Teaching Board, and is intended to be useful for both members and their substitutes in executing their roles on the Board.
This handbook has been designed to help new or continuing students to understand the responsibilities they have for their fees and to provide them with the information that enables them to arrange payment in good time. Heriot-Watt University expects all students to have full funding for fees in place before commencing their chosen course of study. Whether all your tuition fees are being paid by a sponsor or funding body or you are self-financing part or all of your tuition fees, you are ultimately responsible for ensuring that your tuition fees are paid in full within Heriot-Watt University's terms.
Our Guide to Student Services describes the services available and what each of them can offer you at every stage of your studies. The Guide aims to help you through your university life and to make you aware of how to make the most of the opportunities that this provides. There is also a summary of Heriot-Watt University policies and procedures which affect you as students and web-site addresses where the full versions of these documents can be found.
