The University recognises employees as its most important resource and the Personal Development Review (PDR) process is one of the ways in which individuals can be made aware of their value to the organisation through being able to highlight their own contribution, receive feedback, and understand how it links to School/Institute/Section/team objectives. The process also enables opportunities for individual development to be identified and addressed and provides a formal opportunity for reviewees to discuss and address a range of other work-related issues. The PDR process encourages good staff management practice across the University and improved communication between management and staff.
The Higher Education Statistics Agency produces performance indicators on behalf of the Scottish Funding Council, the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales and the Department for Employment and Learning. Performance Indicators provide comparative data on the performance of institutions in widening participation, student retention, learning and teaching outcomes, research output and employment of graduates.
