The Heriot-Watt Annual Review is a summary of the University's performance over the past year with a statistical summary of student figures and financial performance. Introduced by the Principal, the Review outlines developments and performance in learning and teaching, research and knowledge transfer, international development and partnerships, people and University community highlights.
Collections management represents a large part of the work of the University Archive, Records Management and Museum Service (ARMMS). The Collections Committee reports annual to the University Court on developments in the previous academic year and future plans.
This is the report of an enhancement-led institutional review (ELIR) of Heriot-Watt University undertaken by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). The ELIR method focuses on: the strategic management of enhancement; the effectiveness of student learning; and the use of a range of reference points.
This Reflective Analysis of the Enhancement-Led Institutional Review (ELIR) of Heriot-Watt by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education was prepared by a small Writing Group comprising the Deputy Principal (Learning and Teaching), the Deputy Registrar and the Assistant Registrar (Learning Strategies). They consulted widely across the University to ensure that the Reflective Analysis represented current practice.
The University's Estate Strategy Committee Annual Report provides details of the performance of the Estate Office and information on the staffing, turnover, the main areas of operation and the main projects undertaken. It also provides an indication of the future strategic priorities of the Estate Office.
The Occupational Health & Safety Committee Annual Report summarises the University's performance in a number of areas of concern to staff, students, consultants and visitors: fire safety, radiation safety, laser safety, diving safety etc. Tables of accidents statistics are broken down by month, year, department, classification, severity, type of injury and type of accident. In addition, figures for fire alarm activations and training undertaken are appended to the report.
The University's Health Service is provided by the Riccarton General Practice for medical services and the Colinton Dental Practice for dental services. The Health Service reports annually to the University Court.
