The Press and Public Relations team aims to provide an effective corporate publicity and public relations service for Heriot-Watt, to promote and enhance the University's corporate image and reputation on a local, national and international level. The team has responsibility for media enquiries, corporate publications, internal communications, publicising news and events, managing the corporate university website and corporate brand, co-ordinating community relations activities and providing professional support and guidance to staff in their marketing and promotional communications.
The University's Web Guide provides guidance for contributors, content owners and users of the Heriot-Watt website. Templates, logo graphic files and advice on publishing your information on the website are provided.
All University staff and students are allocated a unique Heriot-Watt email address on registering for access to computing facilities. Staff must fill in a registration form; students must go to a PC Caledonia lab and use the self-registration facility. You can access your university email account from any computer (anywhere in the world) with Internet access. The recommended browser is Internet Explorer 6. Non-Microsoft browsers, e.g. Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari will work, but fewer features will be available. You should take note of the conditions of use and good practice guidelines to avoid improper use of this service.
